3 I (bt teleg it Am —rnES9 association.) Christchurch, March 3. Reference to tho death of Mr. K. Cape Williamson in the Penguin disaster was mado by Dr. Might at tho meeting of the North Canterbury Education Hoard to-day, and the following motion was adopted: "Thattho Board of Education of North Canterbury tender its sympathy to tho relatives of tho lato Mr. K. 11. Capo Williamson, formerly scholar and .teacher under the board, on tho occasion of his lamentable death by the wreck of tho Penguin, and express its regret at tho early termination of a life promising a career of unusual usefulness ana brilliancy. ' It was also resolved, "That tho Hoard of Education express its sympathy with Mr. Alfred Maxwell, headmaster of the Tai 'J'apu School, and his family, at tho loss of his sister in the wreck of tho Penguin." Tho Rev. James Maxwell, of St. Albans, Christchurch, writes to tho Prime Minister expressing the grateful acknowledgment of himself, Mrs. Maxwell, and family, of tho great kindness and sympathy extended to tlwm by friends in Wellington,\ in their recent sad bereavement. Mrs. Henry, who with her husband lost hor life in tho wreck of the s.s. Penguin, was a daughter of Mr. Maxwell.
