In tho case against Mr. Horatio Bot fomley, Liberal M.P., and three othors, charged with'conspiracy and fraudulent dealing in connection with the Joint Stock Trust Finance Corporation, the presiding magistrate, Alderman Sir, George Smallman, withdrew, owing to' illness, and another alderman took his place. On this ground Mr. Bottomley applied for a mandamus to compel a re-hearing of the evidence. Tho Crown objected. Tho High Court of Justice refused to grant Mr. Bottomley's application.
