v A race was sailed'by the Thorndon Dinghy "Sailing Club's fleet lost evening, for,-a trophy: .presented by : Mr. B. /Nathan.. The: following boats started:—Thelma,- scr.; Zel. 1 Vara, imih.i. Blowfly,,;4imin;.vOeo, SJmin.; Bona, 6min., ' The breeze, being, from, the south -a : good start was,'effected, but on.the.run down to Coromandel buoy the 'wind dropped away ■and the race resulted in a drift. 1 On rounding ■the buoy Blowfly, was successful in pioking up a fluke, which she hung to, -and thus established a substantial lead. On :the wind Thelma' overhauled the remainder of the boats, and then-set out, after Blowfly, which managed td retain her finished ; first. The remaining, boats finished! as follow:—Thelma,.. Zel, Vera, liona. -Oco, The last four boats were disqualified for. a, breach of rules.' A, race will ■be sailed oh Saturday for . a trophy I, 'presented ■ bythe. Te Aro Sailing Club. :.
