In-the. morning Dr. Gibb took , .as his theme ;!'The ! World's Challenge to tho.. Church and the Church's Answer. He based his remarks on Ephosians.l, 22: "And gave Him to be head over all: thing's to'the'Church which is His body.',' , . In the evening the same preacher .discoursed on "What Secularism May Como;To," making, in the course of tho sermon, , reference to Father Benson's'remarkable 1 book' "Lord 'p"f the World," , which:is a study of the probable outcome of the principles.'of secularism. The text was taken from the,second letter io the Thessalonians,* the passage'in which St. Paul speaks of tho man of sin, who usurps the place of God and exalts, himself as ; God. .' The .choir sang 'an anthem and 'a setting, of.'the.:,Te Deum" at each service, and in • the \ evening two verses of. the National. Anthem were heartily sung by the large congregation; 'The. collection for the day amounted' to close on £40.
