There were several rumours • about, town yesterday concerning developments at. the Moturoa bores of'_ tlie Taranaki, Petroleiirn Company. The ; statement-: was : made that thirty barrels of oil had been dumped during the" morning, but this lacked : official confirmation. A "Daily Ntm" reportet, who set out specially :■ to investigate, was informed to-night that never in the history of the oompany had things looked as rosy as thoy do now< At- No. 2 boro. from 'four o'olock' on -.■Thursday afternoon to this (Friday) afternoon there were pumped from the bore nearly ten thousand gallons of oil, with an admixture of salty water and silt, the 17,000 gallon tank being two-thirds mil as the result of this run with .the pumps.
