As the ■wind and soa increased,; Captain Allsop headed for the coast,' and came down inside Kapiti and Mana Islands as far as Ohau Point., ; Finding that there was no chance of keeping on in the face of tho gale, Captain Allsop went into; To Kaminari, inside of Obau Bay,'where he anchored about 4 p.m. While the vossel was sheltering there the steamers Huia, Stormbird, and l'utiki came in to escape bad weatHor outside. The Ripplo remained at anchor until about 5 a.m. yesterday, when, the gale having abated, she; resumed her passage. She had a fine weather run from To Kaminari Bay to Lyttelton, and none of her sheep wero lost,although some were rather weak after being over four on: board; The Storm, which left Lyttclton last Thursday morning . for Fronch Pass to load sheep for Lytteltou, had a vovy unpleasant and trying experience in the gale. She' put into Picton yesterday morning for shelter, but resumed her passage later,'and arrived at Lytteltou to-day.
