"The Times" IJacca correspondent states: that the new Act lias converted the societies in. Eastern Bengal named tho National Volunteers into Eccrot societies, with ramifications, far and wide. Tho Dacca branch includes several thousand Brahmins and high-caste Hindus, but no Mohammedans. Tho'societies are modelled on Russian lines, having three circles, tho inner being the really aotive .'one. They have an agent in every village. .
