FIRES.
(BY ISSOCIITION.) ■ Auckland,' February, 12: A seven-roomed house, occupied by Mr. Reilly, near Penrose, was totally destroyed by firo early this morning. Mr. Reilly, and '■ his wife were- asleep at 3 o'clock, when they , smelt smoke, and found that the place was ' on fire.' They immediately secured their' child, which was in an adjoining room, and escaped in scant attire, the house and fur. nituro being burned before their eyes. ■ Christchurch, February 11. The homestead >at Glenroy, near Glen■tunnel, a 7-roomed house with dairy and storeroom, the property of Fratik Hiatt ' was burned down at midnight on Tuesday. NothiiiK was saved. The iurrates, Mr. and " Mrs. Hiatt and child, had a narrow escape Hamilton, , February 11. Three stacks containing severity tons of oats were mysteriously destroyed by fire at night at Tekowhai. Incendiarism is suspected. " '
