One difficulty they had to contend .with related to old ciistomors who might bo temporarily embarrasEod through unemployment. However; the difficulty was overcome :by the bakers in the various' districts supplying these'customers in' turn 'and roceiviug payment; when tho: stress 'was..-removed. It was:stated that the bakers! who did not adopt .the; cash coupon system, had had to complain that they were getting a.niimbor of!bad debts on theirdocks, -as the ''good. customers .preferred the bakers who had adopted the system, which secured 'certain! advantages to the boiißUmers. It' was found that-i the cash coupon sytem :ivas mbre.cconbmical for : customers, who were /also protected by it from ''.the. possibility of paying for more broad ! than.'.they - actually! reoeivod.
