Kells 644, Mr. Hepburn 424, Mr. Adair 407; borough representation, * Mr.' Harris 811, Mr Tounjey 601, Mr. Bees i 514, Mr. Whinray 433. Messrs, Mac Donald, Kells. Har.is, and Tq«nley art therefdre elected, as the returns still to come will not materially effect tho result of tho poll. Of'the candidates, four were in favour ot submitting Mr. Merchant's scheme for an outer'harbour to tlio ratepajors at an early date, whilst the other four representatives belong to the conservative element, fliiicn otiftosos such action at the present time Of the successful candidates Mr. Halris, repiesents the former party.dnd Messrs.
