« . AN OVERLAND TOUR. (DI TEIEGBAPH— I'KKSS ASSOCIATION.) Inveroarglll, February 2. The Hon. Thomaß Mackenzie, Minister in charge of the Tourist Department, reached To Anau this morning, after ten days spent in the West Coast Sounds, and travelling overland from Milford. The track is in good ordor, and indications are that tho wapiti are spreading. Mr. Mackenzie will reach Invoroargill to-morrow, and leave immediately for Dunedin. „, ' , Dunedin, February 2. ' Glufcha people propose to give a banquet to tho Hon. T, Mackcnzio, at Balelutha, on February 12. Along the.track to Te Anau, the Ministerial party found tho but in ruins, tho boat smashed, and bridges down. The Minister considers it would be unwise to spend more money on this track. The track from tho Milford Glade Houso is in good order, and makes excellent walking, while the accommodation is entirely satisfactory, so that any complaint by'tourists is not likely to bo heard again. Mr. Matthows, chief forester, found three new plants on the Balloon Peak—namely, a handsome ranunculus, a fine olsaria, and an oracophyllum,
