CHARGE AGAINST A SCOW MASTER.

Macklow Bros.'sand V.with having fraudulently' failed : to account for them. It was stated by the' prosecution that tho accused was. employed about., the end of' October, 1907,.a5-master-of the-scow. Kia Ora; The vessel was to. bo worked ''on. 1 shares j the .accused taking twoTthirds of the earnihg3 of the scow, out of which he'paid all wages and stores;; The other third went to the firm, out of which tliey had-to pay for the upkeep of-, tho vessel, Fivo per cent, of the gross earnings was deducted and. given to the owners or agents' according to which party found tho freight. It was.not the accused's duty to collect freights, but if he did so ho should account to tho firm.
