SEIZURE OF OPIUM.
IN SYDNEY HARBOUR.
A LAUNCH IN THE WAKE OF A LINER. CAPTURED BY CUSTOMS. (by tedboiiapu—muss association—coriKiauT.) (Rec. January 28, 0.30 a.m.) Sydney, January 27. This evening' the Customs authorities seized over 800 tins of opium, valued at between £2500 and .-£3000.' When the Eastern and Australian Company's steamer Empire left port this afternoon, a launch was seen manoeuvring in her vicinity, southward from Sydney Heads. Tho launch entered tho Headß to-night, shepherded by the Customs authorities, who boarded her up tho harbour, seized the vessel, and arrested all on board.
