It is rumoured in Canada that Lord Northcote, late Governor-General of Australia, will succeed Earl Grey as Governor-General of tho Dominion of Canada. TEarl who is 57 years of age, l in 1901 succeeded his brother-in-law, Lord Minto (now Viceroy of India), as Governor-General of Canada. He has also had considerable experience in South Afrioa, being, after the Jameson Raid, Administrator of Rhodesia, from IB9G to 1897. Earl Grey is head of the trust for placing pubiiohotises under public control, and diverting their profits to publio purposes.]
