BULGARIAN AND TURKISH TROOPS. MUTUAL PRECAUTION. TIRNOVO SAID TO BE THREATENED. (BY TELEGIurH—PUESS ASSOCIATION—COFYIUOHT.) (Reo. January 25, 11.45 p.m.) Sofia, January 25. Bulgaria is mobilising at Stara Zagora a division qf tho army. This precaution is attributed to the concentration of Turkish troops near Mustafa Pasha, threatening the strategical position of Tirnovb, which is the key to Southern Bulgaria. [If Tirnovo, the ancient capital of Bulgaria, is the key to the southern part of that country, a great commercial and military centre; is probably the key to Constantinople— that is, from the point of view of a Bulgapan invader. .Mustafa Pasha, like Adrianople, is on the. River Maritza, but is 17 miles west-north-west of Adrianople, Stara Zagora is between Tirnovo and the Turkish boundary, about 45 miles south of tho latter place, It was at Tiiv novo that Ferdinand recently declared Bulgaria's ' independence,! " , ■ CZECHS AND GERMANS. TROUBLE AT PRAGUE.—"LONG LIVE SERVIA." (Rec. January 25, 10 p.m.) Vienna, January 25. Further disturbances - have occurred at Prague (the capital of Bohemia, Austria) between the Czechs. (Slav race) and tho Germans. -.-•'.' The', gendarmes charged the mob. with bayonets. A panic ensued,,and several persons .were trampled on. Later, tho mob stoned the gendarmes, i amid shouts of "Long liv 6 Seryia." THE RACIAL RIOTS OF NOVEMBER. Towards "the end of November, at Prague, the Czech mob demonstrated against Baron von Aorenthal's house and coupled his name wish abusive epithets. Tho Eadetzky monument vas bombarded with stones.and rotten apples, whilo the mob shouted "Long live Servia!" "Down with Austria!" Not content with, throwing the Austrian flag.into the Moldau, the popiir lace took posessionof a Union Jack hoisted outside an' English photographer's 6hop and carried.it through the streets oheering'for England until the police, with drawn sabres, attacked and dispersed the demonstrators, sevoral of. whom were wounded.. At Trieste the Italian populace used revolvers against the police, two constables .being wounded, ~.'./' The Slavs camo to Bohemia in the beginning of the sixth century, and have, remained the dominant race in Bohemia up to the present day. Czech, or Chech, is the name that as a rule is) given to those Bohemian Slavs.: At present/the Germans preponderate in the mounr, taijictus districts, and the Czechs in the lower andJJSvel parts of tho country. Bitter animosr itytfexists uehveen .the Germans and .the Slavs in Bohemia,. the aristocracy and the peasants being for the most part Czech, whilst tho inhabitants', of M:he towns are mostly German.
