At Te Rapa, on Saturday, while riding in a cart with two other Maori boys,f e 'Rangi Taitukaii, aged fourteen; was fatally crushed through' the, cart overturning' in a: hole- in the road and pinning him to the ground by the shoulders. The other, occupants, of'the cart were thrown clear. At. an inquest, a .verdict, of accidental death, no blame- ak tacking to: anyone, was returned. ; DIED 'WHILE WALKING TO CHURCH; _ . Oamarti, January 25, Whilst a man named _ ChishoJm, from Southland; who was visiting .{rionds in Oamaru, was walking to church yesterday moniihg, ho fell into the arms-of: his son-in-law; and suddenly expired. Deceased had been in delicate health for some-time, and had previously been treated for heart disease,.' ~.',, A' SUDDEN DEATH. Oamarii, January 25. To-day a painfully sudden death occurred. Robert Holson, who for many years' had been a fireman at the Oamaru Woollen Mills, was cycling to work along Thames Street when he was seen to suddenly fall off his bicycle. On assistance arriving, Helson's condition was seon to be serious, and medical aid was summoned, but a doctor, on arriving, coujd only pronouueo lifo to bo extinct. It is understood deceased had previously been treated for heart disease,, A CHILD DROWNED. (by tehegrafii—r«Ess association.) Duncdln, January 25. A boy'namod Ernest Buchanan, five years old, was accidentally drowned in tho Molyneux River at Tuapoka Mouth on Saturday. Tho child fell into the-river while playing on tho' bank with another child. The body has not boon recovered.
