The Northern Union team defeated the Leaguers by fifteen points • (three goals and three tries) to five points (one goal and one try). There were 15,000 spectators. The Australians were completely out-classed, their combination being uncertain, whereas the English three-quarters were brilliant, passed with precision, and were faster than the Australians.
