One of Scotland's oldest inhabitants, Elizabeth of Denny of Tait, died in Hartwood Asylum on''December 6, in her -hundred and eighth, year. /She /was/ born: at Biggar in 1801, was admitted to the Poor-Roll of Biggar on AugusfilS, 1851. ; She was then residing at Peebles, and was 'certified by tho medical officer as suffering from heart disease.-;' She removed from; Peebles'to/Cambushethan' in: December, 1866, and after, one or two other changes/was admitted -to Stirling Lunatic Asylum on April 28, 1893, and transferred to Hartwood Asylum.in 1895.
