PONY AND GALLOWAY R.C,

YESTERDAY'S RACING -AT MIRAMAR. There was a large attendance at Mirnmar yesterday for the second day's racing of the Wellington. Pony and Galloway Racing Club's January. meeting. Fine weather prevailed, but there was a light breeze- blowing, , and tho course was inclined to be dusty. Good racing was the order throughout the day, and three of the events resulted in very exciting finishes.' Tho principal event, the Anniversary Handicap, was won by'Kauhoe after, a great finish' with Moata. A little dissatisfaction was expressed at tho judgo's decision m this event, a section of the spectators bemg of the. opinion that Moata had caught Kauhoo on the post, but'the; -judge is the only person really in a position 1 to decide upon such a close finish. No hitch occurred m the proceedings yesterday, a fact which speaks a good deal for the management mchargo of the club's secretary, Mr. J. M. Oummiug. Seventeen bookmakers were licensed, for the afternoon, and appeared to transact a large amount of business.
