A BOY'S DEATH.
•Melbourne, January 20. At the inquest, on tho boy Bridge, evidence was given that ho quarrelled with his sister; and told her she would not see him any more. The coroner, however, expressed the opinion that 'the boy wished to see a train rush by, ran down a deop embankment, and thus met his death. A verdict of accidental death was returned. {According to previous cabled advices, Bridge, who was a sohoolboy, twelve years of ago. dehberatoly placed his head on the line in front of an advanoin* engine at Elslornwick, and was decapitated.]

Sydney, January 20. Hagney, a well-known cyclist, has abandoned the track and taken up sculling. He declares that if Arnst could tako up sculling and win the ohampionship after attaining his majority, ho fails to see why ho- should not be equally successful.
