(OS IZI.BGDirB.— SPECIAL COnSESroNDENT.) Christohurch, January 20. The chairman of tho_Wellington Centre of. the New Zealand Amateur Atlilotie Association, in replying to Mr. D. Hoare, of Christ-;' church,' a,moinberof the council of the association, regarding a circular-letter sent from Wellington to the •centre delegates throughput the Dominion, relating to the nomination of-outside men, for, seats on the council at Ciiristchurch, stated that the Wellington Centre neither authorised _ nor received any circulars in support of or in- connection, with tho election of a New> Zealand Amafcur Athletic Association Council... : ■'.-* ■'.':'■■'■ In conversation with a-"Press"' reporter to-night, Mr. Hoare-produced tho circular referred to, in .which appeared tho following clause:—"At a .recent mooting of the delegates comprising the Wellington Centre, the. following motion was agreed to, viz.:—'We, the undersigned, delegates of the.amateur athletic clubs, resident in 'Wellington,' do hereby agree to nominate Messrs. W. F. Larkin, F. Hoss, A. Davies, W. Coffey, E. A: DawGon, A. ■ Maryatt; and .W. H. ! Pollock, (residents of Wellington), for seats on the Council of the-New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association.' Tho delegates agreed to nominate these gentlemen) firstly, because it was felt that they would endeavour to carry out tho wishes of the centres as expressed at the last conference .of. centres, and, secondly, because it was felt that the.tithe had arrived when the headquarters of thoassociation 3hould be removed from Christchurch to Wellington'." - Tho .circular is signed by Mr. 'J.-.W. Heenan, on behalf -of the delegates of the centre. Mr. Hoare points outthat if the-circular is to be taken at its face value, and there is no reason to hold otherwise, then the statement of tho chairman of the Wellington Centre that his centre neither authorised nor issued any circular in support of or in connection'with the election of a Now Zealand Amateur Athletic Association Council must be wrong, and he strongly deprecates such crude attempts to. misrepresent, the facts with the bbject of prejudicing the legitimate council of the association.; ..'..
