, Viscount Esher, presiding at the statutory meeting of the Territorial Force Association of the County of London, passed in review the of their official existence. Lord Eshor said ho 1 hoped that all' present would .agree', that iin.'a. sound, military, sense London had not failed to come up to the standard of other'parts of the countty. Of 14,200 officers, non-commissioned officers, and men administered' by. the /London Association, 12,734 had attended, tho annual camp training. Of this number' 29 per cent, of the officers and ; 40' per cent, or the men attended for eight clays, while 71 per cent, of the officers and 60 per cent, of the men attended'for. fifteen , days. The committee had suggested, a plan which, he thought, might, before 'this time \ next year, obtain very'nearly the full numbers for the association. They proposed to approach employers of " labour in the county by means of local committees working under commanding officers upon a well-defined plan; and, if properly worked, tho scheme should prove very' effective, v-.- .'
