At the inquest concerning the death of Mr. ' Wm. ; Burt, sawmillcr, of Whiteman's Valley, who _was accidentally killed on Monday last, evidence: shojved that two of deceased's employees were engaged jacking a big log off a truck on to the skids, which work deceased superintended.. After giving his orders, Mr. Burt walked away, and apparently went to the other side of the skids, out of view of the workmen. The log was jacked off,, and deceased was caught, by the neck between some timbers. His neck was broken, death being instantaneous. The log was removed at once, but deceased was past.medical aid.
