MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.

. - -••. '.->•' The Missions to Seamen Institute was crowded last night, when Mr. and Mrs.-J. Blundell provided, a delightful concert. Mr. James Moore; ;the missioner, occupied the chair, arid a jshort interval addressed the audience on the. temperance question, taking the words "Wrong Armour" for a subject. Eleven men subsequently took the pledge. - An amusing conundrum competition was hold and'won by sailors from-ships in port. Several, popular choruses, ■led by the missioner,.were sung in good' style, Miss.-Sewell playing the' accompaniments. The musical arrangements were in the hands of Miss Sewell, who provided an enjoyable programme. The following contributed items Misses. Graham, Sewell, Pollock, Messrs. Sewell (2)(llobins, - Sloan, Graham, and Master W; Sewell/ Misses Copeland and Sewell acted as -accompanists. The performers were accorded a.'hear.ty vote of thanks at the conclusion, and light refreshments were handed round. During the concert Mr., Moore road*a letter from the Kov. A. H. C. Fargus, chaplain of H.M.S. Encounter, acknowledging,. on behalf of Captain Pyler and the orew, the cablegram of condolence, and sympathy sent last,week in connection; with the recent naval.disaster,in,Sydney.
