Instructions have been received, .from the Miirainanga Estate Company to sell by public auction at the offices of Murray, Eoberts, and Co., Wellington, the only block of property now remaining unsold. A short time ago ferro-conereto threatened to supersede brickwork for wall-building in this country. Ferro-brickword will probably now supersede ferro-concrete, for Messrs. Baldwin and Bay ward have lately patented for a. client a means of introducing vertical rods into brickwork without breaking bond. In the face of yesterdays cables, which state that the only buildings which escaped damage at Regno (Sicily) were built, in this way, the publio will bo gratified to learn that it is expected that the special bricks required will be in Wellington in a very short time, and will be sold, -at a price whioh will make ferro-brickwork: much cheaper than ferro-concrete. The invention has been shownto roany leading engineers, who fully endorse all that is olaimed for it,
