A striking evidence'of the popularity of New Zealand, and the-North Island in particular, from a sportsman's point of view, is afforded (says the" Waikato Argus") by the largo number: of the disciple's of Izaak Walton in the Old Coujitry,' who have 'been scg.gratified with the successes of past-tours that they are ' this 'ye'ar revisiting' the Dominion for the purpose of renewing their acquaintance with our fishing' : grounds. There are also, as usual, some new visitors', who hayo been attracted to' our shores by the favourable accounts- of our fisheries,-which have reached them from their fellow-votaries of the rod and line. Mr. W. E. Law'son. an ardent English sport, who was out here some three years ago, has again come out for a season's fishing, combined with shoot-ing.-Mr. S. Haughton, of Dublin, who was also at Rotorua-.last year, is repeating his visit, and is on this occasion accompanied by Mr. E. F. Hopkins. These two anglers -have gone to Botorua. A recent steamer brought several more English anglers/ including Messrs. John Bushby, H.' Colin AYebster; G. L. Paton; and A. ; D. Campbell. . : ; .;■" ;
