In reply to numerous correspond enta who ■wrote criticising-Mr. Taft on the ground that he .is a Unitarian, President Roosevelt (says the..Washington correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph ) issued a letter denouncing, religious intolerance in American politics. "M.r. Taft's religious, faith," says the president,. "is purely his own- private concern. Moreover, .the first principles of American government, guarantee to all complete religious liberty.''
