A conference of the parties in. tho State Parliament who are opposed to tho Labour party, after a long wrangle as to the appointment of a leader, eventually . selected Mr. Murray (who moved the successful censure motion against tho late Government) for the position.. At the conclusion of tKe conference Sir Thomas Bent handed in his resignation to the Governor (Sir Th'os. Gibson-Oarmichael), and recommended that Mr. Murray be summoned. . The suggestion was accepted by the Governor, and Mr. Murray has undertaken the task of forming a Government.
