Members of the. profession from Auckland to Invercargill were present. Mr. Reakes presided,' and was supported by-the Prime Minister; (Sir Joseph Ward), who capped the chairman's toast of the guest' of the evening with some warmly appreciative words regarding tho : work of the veterinary profession in general and Mr. Reakes in particular. The toast of the medical profession was proposed by Mr. .Taylor,, professor of veterinary science atjLihcoln College,.and responded to by Dr. Stapeley, of Hamilton.
