LAWN TENNIS.
TOURNAMENT AT DAYJS BAY. j . : £ A SUCCESSFUL OPENING. i The annual tournament of the Wellington ■* Provincial Lawn Tennis Association, which was commenced on the Day's Bay courts yesterday, is. being conducted this year on novel lines. The handicap events are being disposed of at the present meeting, and the , championship events will be reserved till j Easter; when the champions now at Nelson ■ will be free to' compete. Tho courts were in . good condition yesterday, favouring fast play, and there was .a fair. attendance of spectators.
