In the course of an address to the .shareholders of the Chnstcnurch Buildirifr. and Land Society yesterday, Mr., Henry Allison referred to the stato of tho money • market in New Zealand. Ho said that 'tho 1 society had experienced a numbor of withdrawals if deposits, which showed that, the depositors had, opportunities ot making better use of their money. The recent financial distress had not greatly aficcted N<jw Zealand, and at any rate the stringency of the market was over, or at least tho country had turned tho corner." He did not expect wool to go up again with a leap, but it was snro to recover by digress, and then the other staple products were maintaining their position. "Tho country is prospering," Ih> concluded, " and it will continuo to do so."
