Newspapers hero have created a sensation by publishing an article, written in Melbourne, declaring that Australia is hostile to a continuance of the Anglo-Japanese Alliance, and desires to see it ruptured as the first step towards the creation of a white man's Pacific Ocean. UNITED STATES AND JAPAN. Toklo, October 27. Tlio Milcado, in reply to President Roosevelt, expressed tho opinion that the visit of the American fleet to Japan would surely tend to cement the friendship and good neighbourly feeling between tho two countries.
