LAWN TENNIS.
At the annual meeting of tho New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, to bo hold on Friday evening, tho following motions will be discussed: — (1) "That this association resigns from tho Australasian Association after tho forthcoming Davis Cup competition."—To bo moved by tho hon. secretary on behalf of tho Management Committee, (2) "That tho rules of the association be and are hereby rescinded, and that the rules submitted by the Management Committee bo now adopted."—To be moved by thti lion, secretary on behalf of tho Management Committee. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. The Shield Conimitteo of the Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association held a meoting last night, when tho entries for the various inter-club .competitions were considered and the matches for next Saturday were drawn. Tho ontries are exceptionally good, and a very successful and interesting season's play may be expccted. The Newtown Club, in spite of their present homeless condition, have entered two teams, .and all tho city clubs are represented, Brougham Hill and Victoria College having the greatest number of players competing. The following aro the fixtures as drawn for next Saturday. The Day's Bay grounds requiro a little moro caro before they will be in good condition, and as few matches as possible are being played thero. They will not be available for general play for some time. The whole of the fixtures for the ensuing season will be made early next week, and duly notified: — Shield. —Wellington v. Victoria College, at Victoria College; Brougham v. Thorndon, at Brougham Hill. Cup.—Karori v. Lower Hutt, at Lower Hutt; Wellington v. Newtown, at Wellington; Brougham Hill A v. Petono, at Petone; Brougham Hill B v. Victoria College, at Day's Bay. Pennant. —Brougham Hill v. Muritai, ..at Muritai; Victoria College B v. Newtown, at Day's Bay; Victoria College A v. Wellington, at Day's Bay. ■ Racquet.—Trinity B v. Brougham Hill, at Trinity; Newtown v. Victoria-College B, at Victoria College; Trinity A v. Kilbirnie, at Kilbirnie; Kilbirno B v. Bidwell Street, at Bidwell Street; Victoria College B, a bye.
