FIELD DAYS ARRANGED^ On' November' 9 ■ (the public'holiday) there irill be "field clays'' held by beekeepers ir Hawk'e's -Bay,' Canterbury, and. Southland, They'will be open to all comers. They will be held at the apiaries of the following gentlemen^-' Hawke's Bay.—Meaneo/Mission Station. Christchurch—Mr.. H... H. • Perrett's residence at Tai Tapu. . Wyndham.—Mr. James Allen's residence. Thb.'generail programme ,- bf'these field-day gatherings is'-'that'-some -of experienced beekeepers in-the party willgive demonrtraconnected'.with' such work as l u ®fi'- l " real '' n 2 or .'folil-broad, suppression: and thfe'-subjects will be'discussed.; ■ It is easily conceivable that much learning may result from these 'gatherings, -for.i'there are several apiarists who have made queen-rear-ing a special Study, others who have experimented with foul brood, arid each in-his own speciality, will:be able to say and show-'iome things that- are new. ■ ' The field days will also be used .as-an'op-portunity, of' showing the general public in what a. clean •manner, honey-is'-handled', and of thus; strengthening their " confidence in noney as wholesome food. , The : Hawke's: Bay field day was decided on fit an annual meeting of the Beekeepers' Association ■ held at -Hastings - on Thursday evening, when Mr. Hopkins (Government Apiarist) and -the chief of his division (Mr. I. W. Kirk, Biologist) were, present. The election of officers was deferred.
