Advices. from • Noumea (capital of New Caledonia) state that a vessel which has arrived here from tho New Hebrides reports a massacre of whites by the natives oti Santo Island (Esperitu Santo, the largest island of the New Hebrides, occupied by "confirmed cannibals''). '';-The viotims are Peter Grieg- and his two daughters, aged sixteen and seventeen years respectively. Grieg was one. of a number of white men who acquired blocks of land in the island. v
