HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

The Hospital Trustees met yesterday in the Town Hall, Present: The Hon. ,C. M. Luke (chairman), J. Danks, W. Hales, J. M'Ewan, C. Kirk, G. Nash, G. London, and G. Bolton. . Miss Kohn, sub-matron, forwarded her resignation. The. Chairman said that it w ; as a matter for regret that Miss Kohu was leaving, as sho had done excellent work during the whole period of her services in the hospital. She was resigning for purely private reasons, ■ aud had 110 complaint to mako about the .institution. The resignation was accepted with regret. Tho Chairman intimated that twenty competitive ..designs had been received for,the proposed additions to be made to the general hospital. Nothing had been done with tliem yet, as it had so happonod that either Dr. Valintino or Mr. J. Campbell (Government architect) had been out of town when tho committee appointed to consider the designs had been ablo to meet. The Secretary had written to tho persons concerned, and it was hoped that a conference would bo arranged promptly. Tho fortnightly return of receipts and expenditure showed a balanco carried forward of £1631 16s. 2d. Out-patients' fees for tho fortnight ending October 19 were £26 155., for the previous fortnight £22 75., and for tho samo period of 1907 £11 165.; wagos: £145 17s. Tel., - previous fortnight £137 Bs. Id., 1907 £168 7s. 9d.; in-patients' fees: £109 13s. 9d., previous fortnight £143 lis. Gd., 1907 £67 175.; petty casli: September £5 4s. 4d., previous month £4 19s. 9d., 1907 £6 Os. 9d. A roturn of tho inpatients gavo tho following figures: General Hospital, 1907 215, 1908 223; Victoria Hospital, 1907 - 39, 1908 39; Seddon Hospital, 1907 15,1904 24. ; The House. Committeo recommcndcd that Dr. Gilra.v bo granted his annual leave, from October 30. This was approved. The Finance Committee's report was adopted. It recommcndcd tho payment of accounts to the amount of £998 18s. 4d., and advised tlie writing-off of an in-patients' ac-1 count (£26 55.).
