The teaching staff had suffered heavily through the resignation,' owing l in most cases to removal from the city, of some of its most faithful and efficient members, including Mr. Walter Barnes, the. late'secretary, Mr. Ludwig, who for ten years conducted tho infant department', Miss Barnes, Miss Campbell, Miss Bowden, and Mr. Shands. Several new 'teachers had joined. .Fifteen scholars entered for tho Sunday School .Unions' examinations, !of whom 13 obtained prizes or certificates. The missionary coUectioris had broken all -previous records,, the-total amount being £16 ,Ss. 4d.,, or nearly ££, more than was collected last year. "The young men's class had been most liberal giverß. The collection by cards on behalf of- tho London Missionary Society had also-been-.slightly-better than last year —£13,17s.—the. largest amount over £3, being collected by one. of the youngest collec,tors, Minnio Gray. The highest number' of marks, 351 out of a possible 352, had been gained by: Hilda Owens; Alfred Owens being second with 343.. Thanks were due to Messrs. J. C. Port, Harold Millor, A. Gray, and A. M.
