Llanelly (Wales) defeated the Wallabies . (Australian Rugby amateurs) by a goal and .a try.(B points) to a goal (5 points). Llanelly secured a try five minutes after starting play. Soon afterwards Carroll ran three-quarters of the length of the field, and scored a try for the Wallabies. ; Towards half-timo Evans (an international forward) added a brilliant try for Llanelly, which was converted. The second half was hotly oontested. | The . result aroused immense enthusiasm among 10,000 spectators. PROFESSIONALS DRAW. MEET THEIR MATCH IN SALFORD. (Rec. October 19, 0.4 a.m.) London, October 18. Tho Australia League team (professional) played a draw with Salford, each securing three goals and a try (9 points). Messenger kicked a penalty goal and a mark goal early in tho game, and Salford equalised. A vigorous, unscientific gamo followed. In the second half Devereux added a try, which was not converted, and Messenger kicked a goal.
