The Dominion Prime Minister, Sir Wilfrid Laurier, in a speoch at Farnham, Quebec,' declared that : Canada' would make no: more pilgrimages to Washington; any overtures for reciprocity must come from' AmeHca. Sir Wilfrid Laurier made a strong appeal in favour of preference to Great Britain,declaring it a bond of Empire, which was at preserit 'only in its infancy.
