A WITHDRAWAL.
t./LETTER BY REV. A. CAMERON. (BT TEI-EGEAPn.—SI'ECIAt. CORRKSPO3 DENT.) Duncdin, October 8. The Rev. A. Cameron writes to the eventing paper on Wednesday as follows:— !' Kindly fallow mo space for a few lines in connection with yesterday's meeting of the Dtinedin Presbytery and Mr. Sutherland's charges!, of wire-pulling. I feel that only harm can come from mombers of the Presbytery hurling names at ono another, and in this respent I have erred grievously in describing Mr. Sutherland's conduct as that of a'coward. Mr. Sutherland is no coward. AYhrit scaled his lips and prevented him from saying openly in Presbytery what lie has been saying of mo in private, I do not know. At next meeting of Presbytery I shall withdraw this offensive expression, and apologise to Mr. Sutherland for my hasty and ill-ad- , vised words. As the words I withdraw have appeared in your columns, I think it right not to wait for the meeting of Presbytery before withdrawing and apologising, but to do so in this public manner and at the earliest opportunity,"-
