(PUOil OUIt SI'ECUI. COEIIESi-ONUESTS.) o— PALMERSTON. At the Hospital Board meeting■ yesterday tho chairman submitted a report with regard to buildings proposed to bo erected at a cost of £1250. It s proposed to ask contributing bodies to make a levy up to this amount, tho Government subsidy making up the rest of tho post. During the discussion it was stated that .the average daily cost of ' patients at the Palmerston North Hospital was 65., a3 against "s.Ojd., the average cost elsewhere. Tiic Dominion Bazaar instituted: by tho ladies -connected with St J Andrew's Church, in aid of the organ fund, was opened by tho Mayor yesterday afternoon, and promises to be entirely successful, considerably reducing the amount still owing, oil the organ. : A well-attended' meeting of. farmers this - afternoon, presided over by Mr.'.J.'Balsillie, chairman of tho local jbranch-'of. th&. Farmers' Union, endorsed the - list • of - questions formulated by the recent Now Zealand Couferencewith regard to the union's policy at the' forthcoming electious. The questions . will be sent to candidates for'tho' Palmers- . ton seat, Messrs. Buick and W ; T. Wood, with a request for'written replies thereto. Reference was also made,to the dairy regulations, which wore roundly condemned, and a resolution was carried oil the motion of Mr. Vile (Longl)urn), that the-question* : of the dairy regulations be deferred until fl.oki-, session for., consideration, : they being-' much;,, too drastic in'their present form. The're-..', gulations were classed as absolutely absurd,, and it was suggested by one /speaker, that.'--they had been drawn up .by a. poultry-farmer, , instead of by a practical dairyrqau.

Sinco the main roll for : the ' Masterton electorate closed on April 15, the "Registrar •of Electors (Mr. M. Foley) has struck off 32-5 names. Tho Bideford Rifle Club'opened the season on Saturday last, when -a trophy competition at the 200 yds.- 500 yds., and.6ooy.ds. was fired. The highest scorer, handicalp .included, was S. There was a large gathering of ladies "and.; gentlemen at ilio bowling green oh Wednesday afternoon, when. Mr. : J. R. Stansell, in a few .words declared the green open . for,-, the season. The green was in excellent condition, although a trifle heavy with the recent :' rain. Tea was handed round, and an enjoy-;. able afternoon was spent., ._ ■ It is said that the Farmers' Dairy Union,'' is likely to work a creamery at Moutoa this season. , ■ There was a good attendance of parentsand children in the Methodist Churdh, on : ... Wednesday night, the occasion being the ■ •distribution of prizes to tho Sunday scholars. ' A service of song occupied the-first part-of the evening, and the singing of the children • was greatly appreciated. Mr. A. Saunders, 1 of Moutoa, afterwards distributed the prizes.-;?

Williams were M.c.'s. ■ . v ' A one-day bazaar, in aid of the funds of the Presbyterian Church, was held here yesterday, and . passed off very successfully. 1 Tha weather was fine, and the attendance-largo.
