MASTERTON NEWS.
. Tho Mastorton Homing Pigeon Club intend opening their season on October 1, when a race from tho Summit will be held. Mr. R. W. Dixon, the well-knpwn New Plymouth breeder of homing pigeons, who is now in Masterton on a holiday, has consented to assist in the judging. The club has an increasing membership, and the prospects aro for a good season. Tho ladies' division of St. John Ambulance Corps has been examined in both homo nursing and first-aid subjects. The results of the latter examination show that the whole of the candidates, entered passed, a good average of marks being maintained. The home-nursing results will not bo known until to-morrow.
