It is stated that tho throwing overboard of the' gun-sights was the result of the malioious act of one of the seamen, who confessed to it. The Gibraltar had. left Aden,' and Was steaming down tho Arabian Sea in a strong monsoon, when one night the gun-sights were found'to bo missing.} It was not till after tho cruiser left Colombo that tho culprit was traced. He now awaits courtrmartial here. The statement about general disaffection on the vessel was due to an exaggerated story circulated by the Colombo press. "j All leave privileges—from the captain down—were stopped at Colombo. The canteen was .also closed, so that the slnp became very thirsty as the result of one man's action.
