SOME WARM RESOLUTIONS.
The following are the resolutions' passed . at a meeting of' West Coast dairy-farmers, held at Okato (Taranaki), on Monday, briefly reported in The Dominion , yesterday , - 1. That the secretary wire Mr. Laury the objetion of the meeting to the regulations in toto. • 2. That this meeting considers the dairy ■ regulations, as circulated ridiculous and unnecessary for the ' well-being of the industry. 3. That this meeting of farmers of the Okato and neighbouring districts feels _ insulted by the remarks made by tho Minister for 'Agriculture, in his place in-the House, when laying the. proposed dairy regulations on the table, as reported in the "Taranaki Budget," of Saturday, September 19, and considers them uncalled for ,and disproved by the.balancesheets and results of the factories on the coast, and contrary to the reports of Government- inspectors • ■■ ■ : 4. That the farmers of Okato and the surrounding districts consider that the supervision and interference with their business, now. promoted, will, : continued, ruin their industry and produce poverty and distress in the country/instead of fostering a thriving yeomanry; , " ■ 5. That this meeting, considers that if the National Dairy Association has induced the Government to formulate tho dairy regulations in question it has exceeded its promise, and requests the Government to consult practical men instead of faddists in future. • ' • : 6. That-the secretary bo requested to forward copies of these resolutions to the Hon; the Prime Minister, the Hon. the Minister for Agriculturo, tho chairman of;the Stock Committee, the member for the district. 7.'Thr»i tho thanks of the moe'ting aro duo to Mr. Okey, M.P., for his early intimation intended trouble.
