- MIDLAND CLUB. The annual meeting of the Midland Cricket Club .was held last night, Mr. P., Stophenson presiding over an attendance of about thirty. ■ The report and balance-sheet, already published, were. adopted. . ; Ton now active and two new honorary members were elected, and two resignations were accepted. The following officers were elected for tho ensuing season President, Mr. J. Duthie ; vice-presidents, Dr. Anson, Dr. Newman, Messrs. H. D. Bell, K.C.. T. G. Macarthy, ; A.- Blacklock, F. Grady, S. Diamond, J. E. Staples, F. Holdsivorth, A. Mitchell, and J. H. .Fairbairn; club captain, Mr. A. B. AVilliams; practice captains, Messre. D. J. Wighton, C. Manson, and D. Patrick; general committee, Messrs. W. T. Wynyard, C. Hickson, C. H. Clinkard, C. Mitchell, and D. Wighton; senior match committee, Messrs. W. T. Wynyard, C. Mitchell, and C. Hickson: junior match committee, Messrs. W. 0. Bock, D. Wighton, and C. H. Clinkard; hon. secretary, Jlr. W. O. Bock; hon. treasurer, Mr. C, Manson; assistant-hon. treasurer, Mr. C. H. Clinkard'; hon. auditor, Mr! E. F. Upham; delegates to' Wellington Cricket Association, Messrs. C. Hickson, W. O. Bock,' and C. Manson. Mr. E. F. Upham was elected a life member of the club.

A decision of last year's committee to fix the subscription for tho third and fourth class teams at 255. caused some discussion. A motion that the committee's decision stand was lost, as was also an amendment to the effect that the subscription for third and fourth class players under twenty years of age be fixed at 20s. Eventually an amendment, proposed by Mr. Clinkard, to the effect that the subscription for all third and fourth class membors be-205., was carried. At tho conclusion of tho meeting, Mr. Stephenson handed to Mr. Clinkard Mr. F. Grady's trophy in recognition of the services which ho had rendered to tho club during the past'year. Votes of thanks to the chairman and the press concluded tho meeting.
