THE WHANGAPE. DRIFTING WITH TAIL-SHAFT BROKEN. (BYTELEOIIArH—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COrYEIGHT.) Suva, Soptember 23. The Union Company's steamor Whangapo, 2931 tons gross, built in 1900, is drifting near Kadavu, Fiji, with a brokon tail-shaft. One of the Whangape's boats, which hat arrived here, reports that tho accident occurred on Monday. The steamer Atua is searching for the Whangape. The'Whangape (Captain Chrisp) left Wellington last Saturday week for Suva to load sugar for Auckland. A Dunedin Press Association message received last night states:—The Union Company advises that tho Whangape was a very light ship, having little or no cargo when she left Wellington tor Suva;
