ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(DY TILIORAPH—rEESS ASSOCIATION.) WOMAN BURNED TO DEATH. Timaru, September 21. At Pleasant Point on Saturday evening the wife of Mr. F. Medlicott, aged 40, was burned to death. It is believed the accident occurred through her clothes being ignited by a flash of kerosene used in lighting tho fire. I She was alone in tho house for some time, and the husband, on returning, found her body in tho passage with most of her clothes burned off. At the inquest a vordict of accidental death was returned. \ MINER FOUND DEAD. ■ Dunedin, September 21. William Cadwcll, a miner, aged 74 years, was found dead on tho road at Waipori on Saturday. Deceased had been suffering from heart trouble. SUICIDE. Dunedin, September 21. At tho inquest on tho body of David Reid, found at Ocean Beach yosterday, the jury returned a verdict that deceased committed suicido while of unsound mind. FOUND DEAD. Napier, September 21. At the inquest oil Alexander Andrews, aged 68, who was found dead at Pukotapu, on Saturday, tho medical evidenco was that death was duo to heart diseaso, and a verdict was returned to that effect. Deceased was a nativo of Belfast, and, so far as is known, had no relatives in New Zealand. A man named Peter Anderson yostorday sustained a rather severe cnt on the head through falling down tho stairs at tho back of tho New Zealander Hotel. Ho was attended by Dr. Mackin, and it is reported that, apart from tho surface cut, no serious injury was received from tho fall.
