WIFE KILLED. (BY TELEGBIPH—rBESS ASSOCIATION—COP3TIIIQHT.) Melbourne, September 21. A tragedy is reported from Ballarat. A man named Cartledge, while under tho influence of liquor, had a violent quarrel with his wife. ■ The husband had a revolver in his hand, and during a struggle the woman was shot. The wound was fatal. Cartledge claims that the revolver accidentally exploded while his wife was trying to wrench it away from him.
