MR. TAFT'S POLICY. REDUCTION AND RECIPROCITY. PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN. (nj TELEGRAPH—ntESS ASSOCIATION—COri'IiIGIIT.) (Rec. August 27, 10.5 p.m.) New York, August 27. After Mr. Taft (Republican candidate for • the Presidency and ex-Secre-tary for War), Senator Hopkins announced that a sub-committee is drafting a Bill to obtain special tariff concessions on American products abroad, arranging a'maximum and minimum basis of duties after the pattern of, the third section of the Dingley Act. Many schedules have been substantially reduced. Senator' Hopkins is convinced that the tariff issue will bo the predominant factor in the coming campaign.
