HARBOUR BOARD STAFF.

INCREASES OF SALARIES. At yesterday's meeting of the WellingtonHarbour Board, the recommendations of a' sub-committee appointed to consider petitions from tho staff for increases of salaries were adopted. The chairman (Mr. T. M.. Wilford) said that the board had granted £1374 in increases of salaries, but since then various petitions had been received from other members of tho staff, and it was proposed to 'grant further increases amounting to £752 i ss.'-:4d. Mr. R. Flotchcr remarked that : although there wero one or two instances in which certain cases might havo been treated a littlo better, he was generally pleased that tho .employees had been treated so well, and ho i was sure they would _ appreciate tho conces'sions they had received.
